Making New Friends From Amsterdam, German, And Holland
MAKING
NEW FRIENDS FROM AMSTERDAM, GERMAN, AND HOLLAND
I'll tell you about the process of
interviewing strangers in three places that were just my plans. If in the first
and second place, I did not get a stranger
that I can interviewed then I will go to third place, but who would have
thought that the day was the first day I started my trip my adventure with
behind the scene strangers. If I was so lucky maybe it's a very happy day and I
feel lucky from anyone because in those three places, everywhere I get new
friends and can communicate with them though not too long, but it's still fun
to be able to communicate with them with a short time too . Since I also heard
from the complaints of friends who had started the adventure behind the scene
of foreigners on the first day, they did not get foreigners who could be
interviewed. So they have to try again another day, that's when I feel so
grateful and grateful to my Allah SWT, because without the ease that my Allah
gave to me. I would also have trouble like the garden-friend I feel.
Okay I will start to tell the
results of my interview in the first place in Yogyakarta Palace. I think there,
I will not get a stranger to interview in the first place, so maybe because
it's still early around 8:30 am, after going around and taking one or two
videos, I was with my friend going to second place. But who would have thought
when the journey will continue the journey to the next place I see two
strangers with 30 years old who are seen sitting relaxed. Without hesitation even
though I felt embarrassed, and did not dare initially, but I tried to
strengthen my resolve and dared to go to the two strangers. This is where I met
Mr.Robert with his friend Mr.Pitcher. Mr. Robert and Mr.Pitchers both wore
glasses, except Mr. Roberts had black-colored glasses for the handle of his
glasses and his hair was black with a little white, and for Mr. Pitcher his
glasses were white, then his hair was white too.
I started the first interview with
say hello good morning sir, then I introduced myself and told my purpose that I
wanted to interview one of them and ask permission to record it. With this
uncomfortable feeling of course I was afraid of being rejected, but because of
the capital of daring and brave earlier. It turned out that the stranger was
happy to be interviewed and it really made me happy and excited, but it was
because it was my first experience of communicating with strangers so naturally
I was confused and all the draft questions I had memorized last night for the
interview just vanished. Because I was so nervous, first I started by asking
"What is your name" then the stranger answered my name
"Robert", so I started to ask Mr. Robert "where do you
from" and then he replied he came from Amsterdam, Holland. He was in
Yogyakarta Palace with his friend Mr. Pitcher. After asking the two questions I
was a little confused what else should I ask.
Then my friend who helped record
the video of my conversation with Mr.Robert gave I a clue , so I can guess the
next question, I asked "what is your favorite food in Indonesia,
sir?" then Mr. Robert replied that he likes "Gudeg" replied Mr.
Rober with a laugh and I then my friends also laughed maybe almost every
question we laugh a lot, Mr. Robert is a very nice person, friendly, and fun to
me. She even told me that her parents mixed. So his mama came from Indonesia
that is from Bandung and his father came from Germany or Holland because I
forget a bit about his father's origin, so I asked him back. Then "can you
speak Indonesian language too, sir" and Mr.Robert replied
"i'cant" while laughing, then he also told me that he was one of the
cabin crew. It was because the English vocabulary I had not much I knew so I
did not ask much about it when it was still my college majors as well, in the
management of air transportation. I was very lucky at that time but because of
what I said was besides my vocabulary that I did not much memorized, and
because nervous too I almost lost all the concept of interview questions that I
have read and memorize last night.
Mr.Robert also asked I , where I was studying?, how old I was?,
then what my college major was?, then I answered that I was studying at STTKD
in the air transportation management major, and I was 19 years old and he said
it was good for your age, then I answered thank you Sir. When he said
alhamdullillah I was shocked, because I guess he was a Muslim was , so I asked
"what is your religion, sir?" he replied "Buddist, is it
bad?" then I replied "No, sir i think every religion is good".
After it was gone almost 7 minutes I interviewed Mr.Robert and many other
questions I have not written here, for more details can be seen in the link
below later that I post on youtube about the results I interviewed Mr. Robert.
Then I also started to end the interview by saying how glad I was to meet with
Mr. Roberts and thank you for taking the time to be interviewed by I, and have a good holiday in
Indonesia. At the end I also took a photo with Mr. Robert and his friend
Mr.Pitcher. It was a very pleasant interview with Mr. Roberts at the Yogykarta
Palace.
My second interview at Taman Sari,
here I met Ms. Vivian she came from Germany, she went to Yogyakarta for a
holiday with her boyfriend, she has the characteristics of blonde hair but her
hair is not too long, wear black glasses, she is also tall, then she wore a
white shirt and short pants. I started an interview with Ms. Vivian while she
was waiting for her boyfriend who bought cold drinks. First I must always start
with greetings like good afternoon Miss, then introduce myself and the goal I
want to interview Ms.Vivian and I'm very grateful to be back to meet with
Ms.Vivian. Because she would be happy to be interviewed by I, Ms. Vivian also
besides looks pretty, she is very kind and friendly of course it makes I happy
to interview her.
Starting with the question
"what is your name" then she replied "Vivian", the second
question "where do you from" she replied "German", the
third question "which part of the German you from" then she replied
if I heard right then she said "western park". In contrast to the
first interview though I have not looked like a professional but I in this time
feel very enjoy and relax when I interview Ms.ViVian. Did not as nervous as the
first interview, but unfortunately I was in the interview with Ms.Vivian only
for about 2 minutes, because I think she will also continue to go around in
Taman Sari. Then there is still a part when I ask "what is your favorite
food in Indonesia, miss" she replied "fried rice", she replied then
I asked again "how long have you been here" she replied "two
weeks". Then "where would you go after this place" she replied
"Bromo Mount and Bali" and I responded it sounded very nice and
interesting miss.
Without realizing it I was almost
done interviewing Ms. Vivian and 2 minutes have passed with Ms. Vivian, so I
started to close my interview by saying that I'm really happy to meet and talk
to Ms.Vivian, and I say enjoy the holidays and be careful when returning to
your home country, I did not to forget too, I said thank you very much because
Ms .Vivian has spend her time for I . To be interviewed by I too, and Ms.Vivian
also replied "yeah, nice to meet you too, and have a nice day too".
After the interview I certainly did not forget to ask for photos with Ms.Vivian
and her boyfriend. The second interview also I feel really nice to be able to
talk to Ms.Vivian in Taman Sari.
The third interview as well as the
last interview at the vrederburg museum here I met the beautiful Ms.Rose like
Wardah, she also said like when I asked "what is your name" then she
replied "my name is Rose like wardah (while she is laughing)". Before
beginning an interview with Ms. Rose, I said a greeting like good afternoon
miss, introduce myself, and tell the purpose that I want to interview her. The
time when I met Ms.Rose, she was looking at things in the vrederburg museum,
and I began to courage myself to greet her even though I was a little nervous
too.
At the beginning it was a little
nervous but after she said she was willing to be interviewed by I , so I was
very happy and a little bit forget about my nervousness, and I could be a
little more relaxed when interviewing Ms.Rose because she's a very nice person.
She has the characteristics of having hair color a little brown, she wears a
sleeveless shirt, wearing glasses with a black colored handle. Besides she is
very kind and friendly I am very happy to be able to meet with Ms.Rose in this
vrederburg museum. When I interview her, I also asked "where do you
from" then she replied "I'm from Holland" and I asked again
"which part of Holland you from, miss?" she replied "the middle
of Holland".
She was here to learn, when I asked
her "So you're actually here for study, holiday or other, Miss?" she
responds to "minors" so I think "minors" can also mean
"study" but I did not talk too much of it.Then I asked again
"after visit this place, where would you go again, miss?", she says
"I'll go to visit another museum at the north if i do not forget (while
she show I the maps from her phone" then i answered it was interesting
miss . Without I realizing 2 minutes have passed with Ms.Rose .
So I started closing my interview
with Ms.Rose with I saying really happy to meet you Ms.Rose, thanks also for
taking the time to be willing to be interviewed. I hope you enjoy your time
over here, and it is regrettable that we have little time to talk but it does
not matter that I have such a short time that I am very glad to have a chance
to meet you. Please be careful when returning to your home country. Then she
replied "yeah, thats nice to meet you too". That's my short interview
with Ms.Rose in the vrederburg museum if you are more curious you can watch it
through the link below.
That is the third interview with
first place in Yogyakarta Palace, second in Taman Sari, and third at Vrederburg
Museum.I was very happy and grateful to be able to interview them and have a
chance to meet them. They're all kind and friendly, I'll never forget my
experience when interviewing them starting with my nervous first interview and
the concept of all the missing questions I've memorized before.Thank you also
for my dear English teacher who has given this task that is Ms.A.If Ms.A did
not give this task I would never dare try to interview them, but because by
trying desperately and courageously, I finally can.As well as when I meet with
strangers again maybe I will be more daring again to be able to interact with
other strangers. The experience of interviewing strangers is really the first
thing for I and I really enjoy it, you also have to dare to try it though once,
I'm sure it will be fun for yourself too.
